In a talk show on Polish radio Po Gwizdku, Podolski talked about the former teammate of Cologne joining the Polish 6th Division and his desire to retire from his hometown team.
Podolski’s teammate in Cologne and former Polish international Peszko joined the Krakow Wiczta in Poland's sixth division. Porti teased, "Will I go to Vichysta? If Peshko comes to Antalya by taxi, then I will go."
"I'm very happy that Peshko can play, and he is also very happy. He definitely has a very handsome contract." Porti added.
Podolski moved to Germany with his family when he was 2 years old. Born in Poland, he once expressed his intention to end his career as a miner in his hometown team Zabrze.
"I have a big family and a group of friends in Zabrze. I keep in touch with the club. I always say that I want to play in Zabrze. It has never changed. This is where I took my first step in football. , I want to end there too."
"I will not only help the team, but also the entire city and region. I will do my best on and off the field. No one can tell what will happen at the moment. My contract with Antalya is about to expire. The club wants to renew."
"Am I very close to joining Zabrze Miners now? Very close, but not yet. People always do some dramatic things, why can't I say I want to go back there? This is a great club."
"As for other clubs in Poland? No way, there are good teams like Krakow Wisla and Warsaw Legia. But I will always only have one club in Poland, and that is the Zabrze miners."
